School Self-Evaluation 2022-2026

WHAT IS SCHOOL SELF-EVALUATION?

School self-evaluation (SSE) is a collaborative, reflective and comprehensive process of internal school review. During SSE, the school staff, under the direction of the board of management and the patron, and in consultation with the parents and the pupils, will be involved in a reflective inquiry into the work of the school. School self-evaluation is primarily concerned with school improvement and development.

What stage is GSBB at in SSE?

School Self Evaluation is a six-step process, with the first step being ‘Identify focus’.

Following a school audit, the Key area of Wellbeing Promotion that we are going to focus in is Culture & Environment.

We are currently at step 2 ‘Gather evidence’.

Further information will be shared in the newsletter and the school website as we move through each step.

School self-evaluation helps schools:

Taking a step forward to improve the quality of the education they provide to their students.

Confirm what is working well, and build on it.

Identifying areas in need of development and deciding on the actions to be taken to implement improvements in those areas.

Reporting to the school community about the strengths in the school's work and the priorities for improvement and development.
